IBHREA's profits will be channelled into programs such as:

• Environmental schemes

• Youth self-esteem initiatives

• Bio-dynamic farming

• Native American projects

• Save the Elephants

The Native American projects will build on the existing strengths of the Native American people and will revive their confidence and self-esteem, particularly among the young. The aim is to enable participating tribes to become economically self-sustaining through the horse and tourist industries. The Palio will, in turn, benefit from the best Native American bareback riders.

IBHREA is setting up two charitable bodies:

• an environmental protection fund

• a racehorse protection fund (in conjunction with the stable teams)

The IBHREA racehorses protection fund guarantees that each racehorse registered with IBHREA will, if injured, be looked after. If a horse sustains serious injuries during training, racing or travel it will be transferred to the IBHREA sanctuary where it will receive professional care until it fully recovers. A horse with a broken leg, for instance, will be treated and retrained for recreational riding.
